In old-school alchemy, Sulfur represented a very important and meaningful ingredient. While V Rising doesn't dabble much in real-world alchemy, it does employ the material Sulphur Ore as refined into Sulphur. It pops up in tons of recipes from early to late game, letting players craft the best items in V Rising. Those who can maximize farming capabilities will be able to craft themselves legendary items and exert their superiority over PvP or PvE foes.

V Rising: How to Farm Spectral Dust
Spectral Dust is important for crafting in V Rising, and it can only be farmed in a few ways. Here is every method for obtaining this material.
Sulphur isn't the rarest of resources in V Rising, occasionally found in most areas that have plain stone. But to climb the ranks and build the best, it'll take more than an occasional Sulphur node here and there to satisfy an ambitious vampire's needs.
Updated on August 1, 2024, by Juliet Childers: Sulphur (and Sulphur Ore by proxy) sticks out as one of the most foundational crafting materials in the entirety of V Rising. Not only is it pivotal in the mid-game, but it is one of the only two ingredients for making Gold Ingots in the late game. Players must keep a steady supply ready at all times by doing regular farming runs, sending out servants on missions, or stealing from fellow players (friendly or not). Luckily, there are a few choice areas near great base locations that provide ample Sulphur Ore for refinement into Sulphur.
Where To Find Sulphur Ore
Unlock The Recipe & Gather Some Ore
- Unlock the Sulphur recipe by defeating Clive the Firestarter in the Bandit Sulphur Quarry in Farbane Woods.
- Process Sulphur Ore into Sulphur using a Furnace
Firstly, players must unlock the ability to craft Sulphur from Sulphur Ore by taking out the V Blood bossClive the Firestarter. Thankfully, using a fast travel point takes players to their location in the Farbane Woods, on the western coast, called the Bandit Sulphur Quarry. Players will get a ton of Sulphur Ore to use right before unlocking the ability to make Sulphur. However, this opens up much more than just explosives, including the ability to make both the Alchemy Table and the Alchemy Lab Flooring. Pairing the appropriate flooring with certain building structures lessens the amount of resources required to craft items. In the late game, this perk really adds up in PvP and PvE.
As for other places to find Sulphur Ore in V Rising, players can find it just about anywhere, as ore nodes can spawn anywhere on most of the maps. But waiting for random generation is not the optimal way to farm Sulphur Ore.

How To Make Sulphur
Get Familiar With The Process
- Put Sulphur Ore in the Furnace
- Requires Gear Level 9 weapon or higher to mine
As with all crafting in V Rising, raw materials must be put into the appropriate building structure and given appropriate time to process. Default settings require 20 Sulphur Ore per 1 Sulphur. Do keep in mind that salvaging Sulphur in the Devourer only yields 5 Sulphur Ore vs. the 20 Sulphur Ore it takes to make 1 Sulphur material.

V Rising: Best Base Locations
Given only a few Castle Hearts, it's important to build in ideal locations. Certain areas stand out for their vast area and environment.
How To Farm Sulphur
Expedite The Process
- Use Bear Form to farm large amounts of Sulphur Ore quickly in mines
- Recruit Servants from all over the map in V Rising and send them out regularly on missions to gain materials over time
- Build multiple Furnaces to process Sulphur Ore into Sulphur more quickly
Minimizing the effort input while maximizing gains is the name of the game when it comes to resource gathering. In order to do this for Sulphur and Sulphur Ore in V Rising, players need to leverage several key locations, their Mace weapon, and their Bear Form Vampire Power. By mining ore with a Mace weapon, players will get a more abundant harvest. In Bear Form, players can use their Q ability to smash large nodes of ore and get a bunch all at once -- something they would need explosives to do otherwise.
After obtaining large amounts of Sulphur Ore, players just need to pop that into Furnaces to process it into Sulphur. If players can spare the materials and space, building multiple Furnaces (and then an Advanced Furnace) helps make the process go by more quickly.
No Vendors sell Sulphor or Sulphur Ore in V Rising.
How To Farm Sulphur Ore With Servants
Servants are one of the best ways to consistently harvest materials from specific locations. Every area in the game is available for servants to go to on missions, but every area has a difficulty rating, too. Higher-level areas naturally have higher difficulty ratings, but players can dominate servants with high blood types and purities and equip them with equipment to boost their power and defense numbers. The equipment includes jewelry like amulets, armor sets, and weapons, too.
Moreover, different servant types have different perks. A Villager will have better success rates in civilian areas while a Gloomrot Railgunner will fare better in non-civilian areas. Utilizing servants of a type in the area of their type, such as a Silverlight Hunter in the Silverlight Hills, increases loot amount by 20%. This includes missions in the Ruins of Mortium.
Send servants to the locations above to passively gain materials as time goes by.
